About Us

Kirk Goodrich, Principal

Mr. Goodrich resigned from Enterprise Community Investment on February 1, 2008 to establish Maverick Developers.  Prior to his departure, Mr. Goodrich managed all of Enterprise’s low income tax credit syndication business in the Northeast (a nine state area) as an Acquisition Vice President.  In September 1998, Mr. Goodrich was hired as a Fund Manager and the company’s first underwriter based in New York City.  Over the next nine years, he grew the regional business’ average annual revenue from $2.5 million to in excess of $6 million.  He built the staff from one underwriter to eight underwriters and delivered over 12,000 units.  Equity investments of approximately $1 billion occurred during his tenure.

Before joining Enterprise in 1998, Mr. Goodrich worked as a project manager at the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Philadelphia overseeing property acquisition in North Philadelphia east of Broad Street and underwriting homeownership development.  He also helped to found and operate a neighborhood development company in East St. Louis, Illinois.  Mr. Goodrich holds a Bachelor’s degree from Cornell University in Consumer Economics and Housing; a Master’s degree in Urban Planning from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign; and a Juris Doctor degree from Fordham University School of Law.

Terrence Phillips, Associate

Terrence Phillips worked with Mr. Goodrich as an intern at Enterprise Community Investment for the last two years.  During that time, he helped to spearhead the faith-based, development efforts that have now evolved into a business line for Maverick.  Mr. Phillips has become the go to person for zoning analysis and financial feasibility.  Essentially, he does the hard work of deciding very early on whether a deal is worth pursuing by determining what can be built on a site and completing a pro forma evaluation of the project economics.  He is also the point person on dealing with church-based development opportunities and oversees training / education to churches.

Mr. Phillips holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Medgar Evers College of the City University of New York, having graduated Magna Cum Laude, and has been accepted into the MBA Program at Baruch College of the City University of New York.
